Her father returned time and again to her apartment throughout the day, hoping to find Mildred Sexton had returned home, safe and sound. On April 16, 2002, she was declared missing. She was seen walking down North Street leaving town. But the family says she would have no reason to leave, and her apartment was left as if she had planned on coming home - with her cigarettes left on the counter, and dishes still to be cleaned in the sink. She was the first of four currently unsolved missing person cases in St. Anthony.
